Jozani Forest, officially known as Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park located at Chwaka Village Zanzibar East Coast of Unguja Island, largest Island of Zanzibar.

This is the largest forest of Zanzibar which is famous for its high population of the Red Colobus monkeys. One among the oldest Monkey species in the world.

Not only Monkeys, the forest has a lot to offer such as rare medicinal plants and natural Mangroves reserve which is part of the Forest. The total area of Jozani forest is 50 km2 (19 sq mi). We prepared the walking tour to make you touch each part of the interest as our guest.

Jozani Forest | Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys

Zanzibar red colobus Monkeys (Piliocolobus kirkii), locally known as ‘Kima Punju’. Live in Jozani Forest Zanzibar and some other parts of Zanzibar Islands.

The monkeys are one of the rarest primates in the African continent and found only on Zanzibar’s main island.

Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park was established in 2004, for the purpose of protection of Red colobus monkeys and other Species and flora found in the forest.
